Thanks!Two - a matching pair - gorgeous rose-red heavy woven cotton jacquard Victorian era drapes or portieres, as I have known them to be called. They are 48" wide by 100" long not counting the tasseled ends. They have 10" of knotted tassels on one end and 4" tassels on the other end. Total length of each is 114". These were draped over rods and more than likely were used to cover interior doorways, not windows. They were probably held back to the side with a tie-back hook, and closed when desired for privacy or to eliminate drafts. Both of these show their age with some fading and spots, a couple of the tassels have come apart. The cotton fabric has beautiful woven designs and is quite heavy - there are no holes or tears. Overall they are still very attractive and usable. I have tried to show all sections of them in the pictures and some of the more noticeable spots etc. These are wonderful remnants of Victorian-era home decor. They might serve very well in a Victorian period home - or as theatre decor props.Your satisfaction is my goal and is always guaranteed. Please take a peek at my other auctions.
