Description This is for a 2-piece 3-color Jacquard coverlet in plum, dark green, and tannish light green. The color combination on this coverlet is both unusal and appealing. The coverlet's cornerblock is identical in every respect to the corner block used by Allen Co. Ohio weaver John Henry Meily, except for the word "Lima", which is missing (see A Checklist of Amercian Coverlet Weavers, The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, 1978, pp. 86 & 128). An attribution to Meily seems possible. The coverlet is in excellent condition with full original fringe, very little moth damage, and just some slight wear at the top (photo #5). The lighter and darker spots in the photos are shadows from the trees in my backyard - not stains. It is approximately 78" wide by 85" long. This is part of a collection of 19th Century woven coverlets that I will be selling with reasonable starting prices on ebay this Fall.
