Several things are distinctive about this coverlet: 1) that the 2 different corner blocks are completely different. The maker's name, location, and date are provided in one, the other contains only the county (repeated) and date; 2) Running perpendicular to the other information in each of the corner blocks is "LADY'S FANCY", likely the name given to the coverlet pattern by the weaver; 3) the wonderful colors consisting of blue, green/blue, and dusty rose on linen; and 4) the size, which is narrow and long for a 2-piece coverlet. The coverlet's dimensions are approximately 69" wide by 94" long. Condition: Excellent, there is some fringe wear. I would estimate about 20% of the fringe is missing; and there is some wear at the "chin" end (photo #7). This could easily be rolled under and reseamed, especially with the unusual length of the coverlet. There is also a little isolated moth damage.
