His art name is Run San and Wu Fo (Enlightening Buddha). He is a Mo Xiang Zhai, (Ink Fragrant Room),National First Class Folk Art & Crafts Artist, the member of the Professional Committee of Snuff Bottle of China Arts & Crafts society, a member of Hebei Artist Association, Provincial Great Master of Inside Painting Art, vice-president of Hengshui Ji School Inside Painting Society, and a member of the Hengshui People's political Consultative Conferece. In 1968 he started to study Inside Painting Art from Mr.Wang Xisan, the Great Master of Inside Painting Art, and was one of the best of Mr.Wang's first generation of students. Also he is good at poems, calligrphy, painting, and seals. On the side of art Mr.Chen pays more attention to the traditional, advocates innovation, likes collecting and does well in appreciation. His subjects are wide such as, people, portraits, mountains & rivers, and animal etc. and his representative works includes "One Hundred Beauties", "One Hundred Horses" and "Serial Buddha Figures" among others. But the most wonderful is "Mountains and Rivers with Snow", whose special way of painting represents his own unique style which is a special way of painting in dark ink to express his deep artistic inspiration and his scholar's intersion.
