The actual ship part is made of wood, and has many intricate details such as in windows, railings, sail rigging, and even an anchor! This ship dates back to the mid-to-late 19th century. It truly is in fantastic shape for being so old! The sails are beautiful and look to be made of treated canvas. All of the rigging was done by delicate hand-threading. Although the ship is in really great condition, the thread is so delicate that it is fragile and may need some restoration. However, it is really up to you, the ship looks great as is! The ship includes the base, which displays a plaque that reads "MAYFLOWER 1620" The ship is really fabulous and my grandparents have taken great care of it over their lifetime. It has sat undisturbed on a shelf for more than 75 years. It needs a good home.
