It is a French Chateau curtain panel with a scallop edge and fringing in gorgeous soft butter gold colours. The design is a quality damask silk design, a quite intricate basket with flowers, and leaves, wrapped in a bow, in a vertical repeat pattern, in a fine, soft beautiful French silk. It has a buttermilk cotton backing. The panel would hang on one side of a window asymetrically with a large swagged curtain and pelmet. The panel has a scalloped edge and fringed in silk trim along the side and bottom. The top has 3 toleware rings, very light in weight, one missing and tape at the end to secure to the pole. The quality of the silk is fabulous. It is French, dating, from the mid 1800s.The length is 9 ft  (about 2.8 m ) and it is 22" (58 cm ) wide at the top.It is in good, clean condition. (Please remember with vintage or antique textiles they are not perfect (unless I happen to mention they are!) so please do not expect that (believe me some people do!).
