1960 Brown-Saltman Modular sofa model 221 Paul Keal Era Start Price USD 595.00 Current Price USD 595.00 Time Left - Bid Count 0 Buy It Now Price - Reserve Price - Start Time Monday, December 01, 2008 End Time Monday, December 08, 2008 Location Lafayette, Indiana See more about '1960 Brown-Saltman Modular sofa model 221 Paul Keal Era' Description This auction is for a vintage 1960 five piece modular sofa  model 221 "Circle Seat" made by Brown-Saltman Furniture Co.  Sofa is in very nice overall condition with no cracks or chips to the wood, no holes or rips in the white vinyl upholstery (though i am not sure if it's original) and only one  ring in the finish of one table top (pictured). Each piece features a trapezoidal shape with three-legged base and are able to hinge with eachother to be arranged in a variety of ways depending on whether you would like more of a sofa with side tables or individual seats (as pictured).  A number of famous designers have worked for Brown Saltman including Paul Frankl, Paul Laszlo, and John Keal.  Although I have not been able credit this design to a specific designer it does boast some very classic mid-century lines reminiscent of Laszlo and Keal's work (though i've been informed it's definitely not a Laszlo design).  This very unusual  piece of modern design would look right at home with your mid-century decor.  This set will be sold pick-up only, however shipping arrangements could be made once the auction ends if requested.  Thanks for looking and happy bidding!*** any more information on this design would be appreciated Powered by eBay Turbo ListerThe free listing tool.
