Description
The BC 15-A was the first transmitter ever designed for aircraft use. This complete and original example, manufactured by the Connecticut Telephone and Electric Company, is in near mint condition. It is hard to believe that a 90 year old piece could be this condition, but here it is. The panel is free of any chips or cracks and is unmodified. The oscillation coil is flawless, with as are all of the tabs and connecting wires/clamps. All of this hardware along with the binding posts has a beautiful, even patina. The internal components and wiring are complete, original, and pristine as the pictures show. The spark gap shows not sign of use, so I am wondering if this set was ever put into service. The wood containing the vibrator looks like it did in 1918.The cabinet of the BC-15A shows virtually no wear. The green paint is 99.9% present and not faded or discolored. The mica window used to view the spark has no cracking. The interior instruction card is 100% and is in excellent condition. The tag on the side of the cabinet is present and 100% readable with minimum wear. A piece of WWI radio gear in better condition will be difficult to find. Sold as is, FOB Fleetwood or Oley PA, with NO reserve. Buyer pays shipping and insurance. PA buyers must add 6% sales tax. I accept International Postal Money Order, $US, or check drawn on a US bank. Sorry, these are the only payment methods I accept for this item.
