The machine appears to have never been used and is in excellent operational condition with all tens carry over. In 1907 GEM calculators, made by Automatic Adding Machine Manufacturing of New York, began manufacturing these machines and they proved to be a very fine machine for business and personal. Most of the machines were stamped with the date of 1907 and this machine has no markings other than serial number of 412482 and may have been a celebration model. Inside case is black and stain lined with label “Your Personal Adding Machine; For Desk and Pocket”. Calculator has a wire brace that fold out for inclined use. The Martin Book states “Machine is also known under name “Gancher Adding Machine……, Designer is Abraham J. Gancher & manufactured by The Automatic Adding Machine Company…..”. This is a very high quality old pocket-adding machine from 100+ years ago. The GEM calculator and case are in near mint condition and fully operational. Serial Number is 412462. Calculator Size is 4” x 3” x 1”. Case is 6” x 5.5” x 1.5”.
