Fresh from a NH attic, we are pleased to offer this EXTREMELY RARE  "reel type" boxed mechanical Panoramic Viewer made by the Excursion View Co. of Providence, Rhode Island. The June 11, 1878 patent date on the panoramic viewer also notes the printer as being Clay & Co. of Buffalo, NY.  The viewer is two sided, in that there are panoramic "shows" on each side of its black walnut case that are shown through its glass windows. The panorama on each side is independently operated with two "wind keys" that allows two people to view at the same time. The panorama or show is moved by turning the metal keys atop the case. An amazing trip through Narragansett Bay and beyond, unfolds with incredible identified Rhode Island and Massachusetts views of named sidewheeel steamships, towns, settlements, villages; notable buildings, forts and landmarks. The placid seaside views are of a wonderful folk art quality!! Identified views included on SIDE 1 are: Fox Point; Seekonk River; East Providence. The sight measurement of each window measures   3  1/4"  by  9 " while the full measurement of  its case is  12  3/8" long by 5" tall and 5  3/4" deep. Flat rate shipping will be $24.95 plus insurance costs , within the Continental U.S. and via Registered US Mail. Insurance fees will be charged at actual cost, depending on final purchase price. CONDITION: Original and in nice working order. The lithograph is bright, bold and in excellent condition. The only area of paper loss is on one of the title pages (see pics). There are three small pieces of the window molding that are missing. They can be easily restored.
