It is dated 1876 in the bottom center margin under the name of the publisher "Gotha: Justus Perthes" and the name of the Atlas appears in the upper right margin.  A copy of the title page of the Atlas is also included with all maps. The map image measures approximately 14 by 16 inches on a 15 by 18 1/2" page with approximately an inch or more margin all around for framing. The Stieler maps are some of the most detailed and accurate of the time period, drawn and printed with deft precission. An interesting map showing early exploration routes. Condition: It is in Very Good or better Condition with original handcoloring. There are no defects to mention other than a slight darkening around the edge of the margins, see the pics. Overall, a very nice antique appearance that will frame up nicely. The pics are of the actual map and very accurate. There are no extra shipping charges on all maps shipped together, so feel free to bid and know that you will never be charged more than $5 for shipping.  Overnight is $15 by USPS Express Mail.  Please let us know in advance if Express mail is desired so we can have item ready for shipping on time.  In some rural locations it might take 2 days.  Insurance rates: We offer optional low insurance of $1 for up to $50 of value, $2 up to $100 and $3 up to $200, etc...  International insurance is more complicated depending on country and requires sending by parcel post which is slightly more expensive.  We can always send by International Registered mail for an additional $7.50, which includes $40 insurance and is very secure. More rate and insurance information can be found at USPS.com, typical weight of one large map is 8 ounces.  We highly recommend Insurance for all items over $30 and will not be responsible for items once they are shipped.  We double check all addresses and use secure priority mail with delivery confirmation to insure that you receive your map.
