There is even an older copyright date printed right on the map itself reading as follows : Entered  According to Act of Congress in the Year 1855 by J.H. Colton & Co. in the Clerk's Office of the District Court for the Southern District of New York". This GREAT Map was made and HAND COLORED 149 Years AGO !!!  DESCRIPTION: Heavy paper with a gorgeous ornate border and original hand coloring.
