Description 1850's ANTIQUE WHIG ROSE 4 BLOCK APPLIQUE QUILT ~WOW! This SPECTACULAR cotton 1850's red and green whig rose quilt is wonderfully hand appliqued and hand quilted with a DYNAMIC vine border and hand embroidered accents. It measures a LARGE 80" X 82" and is in excellent condition, with a couple of small, faint age spots and no wear. The quilting is OUTSTANDING, with quilting around and within the applique and in flowing feathered, floral, and curlicue designs in the background, all at an even 10 stitches to the inch. The back is white, the hand stitched binding is the same solid green used in the interior, and the batting is thin. You can see cotton seed residue inside when you hold the quilt up to to the light.
