The map covers Oregon, Washington, Northwestern Canada, Nevada, and California. Contains copious notes throughout; Mines, ports, Indian settlements, forts, and missions are shown, 1844. From Map: Carte De La Cote De L'Amerique Sur L'Ocean Pacifique Septentrional Le Territoire De L'Oregon, Les Californies, La Mer Vermeille, Partie des Territoires de la Compagnie de la Baie d'Hudson, Et De L'Amerique Russe. Dressee par Mr. Duflot de Mofras, Attache a la Legation de France a Mexico; Pour servir a l'intelligence de son Voyage d'exploration Publie Par Ordre Du Roi, sous les Auspices De Mr. Le Marechal Duc De Dalmatie, Mr. Le Ministre Des Affaires Etrangeres. Paris, 1844. Le plan grave par Jacobs. L'ecriture gravee par Hacq. Publie par Arthus Bertrand. Actual map is much sharper and detailed than the low resolution scanned image used here. Map measures approximately 24" by 30" (61 by 76cm). The maps are reprinted (a modern reprint) using premium semi-matte photographic paper and Ultrachrome ink which has an archival rating of 125+ years. Custom Framing & Matting Options We offer a variety of sizes and options for framing                                                                             your purchase. Because we are dealing with historical pieces from a wide range of regions, creators and time periods, there is variation in the quality. However, we always ask ourselves if we would be pleased with a particular image framed and on display before we add it to our inventory. We do not carry low-quality "snapshots," cheap digital scans or multi-generational prints. When we create a large-format negative at the archive the resulting digital file can easily exceed one gigabyte. The detail is so good that the actual fibers in the paper or cloth of the original map are visible in the print we make. Are the maps in the public domain? Many of the images are available for use as public domain images. Some of the images can be licensed for limited commercial use and some are restricted for all commercial activities. If you would like more information about a particular image, email us. Will the watermark/writing appear on the map I receive? No. The writing on the internet image of the photograph is to discourage copying and will not appear on your photograph. How are the maps shipped? Maps are rolled and placed in a plastic sleeve and then into a rigid tube that is of a larger diameter than the sleeve. This ensures that an impact to the tube will not be transferred to the image. Maps may ship via USPS, Fedex or UPS. International shipments are sent via air mail or air parcel post, depending on size. Fedex is available for international shipments but you must contact us first to arrange the extra charge. Is this available in a larger/smaller size. Yes.
