With the Coast of Persia, China, also the Philipina, Moluca and Sunda Islands, &c. by Hermann Moll, Geographer Printed: London, 1745 A remarkable and scarce Moll map detailing coastlines of the Indian Ocean and Indonesia, with several obsolete placenames. Extends west from the Persian Gulf and northern Madagascar, northeast to Korea and Kyushu, Japan, and the southeast as far as Van Dieman's Land, New Holland (Australia). Showing several Atlantic and Pacific islands including the Seychelles and Maldives, Ceylon (Sri Lanka), the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Malacca on the Malay Peninsula, Siam (Thailand), Sumatra, Java, Borneo, the Maluccas and New Guinea, the Philippines, and Formosa (Taiwan). Two large compass roses and rhumb lines make this a very attractive sea chart. Sheet measures approximately 14 inches x 18.5 inches (35cm x 47cm). Image measures approximately 11 inches x 14 inches (27,5cm x 35cm) Herman Moll: "Engraver, geographer and bookseller of Dutch origin. Came to England 1678.
