RARE' Description http://www.collaborations.com/Ebay/siammi  Guy Tachard  Voyage de Siam  Paris Arnould Seneuze et Daniel Horthemels  1686  First edition close-up      First edition of the famous travel book " Voyage de Siam " written by Guy Tachard and printed in Paris by Arnould Seneuze and Daniel Horthemels in 1686.Guy Tachard was a french missionnary and discoverer to North America and later to Thailand, where he made two voyages (the second in 1689).  He died in Bengalen in 1712.  This is his famous voyage to Thailand with notes on South Africa Cape province, depicting exotic animals such as the zebra, rhinoceros, chameleon, and several elephants, the beautiful royal boats, the medicinal Ginseng root, a view of Bangkok, etc.  Some dampstain, some light browning due to the kind of paper used, but overall a  very good copy of this rare travel book. First edition Illustrated with 7 chapter-vignettes, (the first on the reception of Louix XIV), and 20 wonderful plates (10  folding) by C.
