The artist retained a passion for ceramics over many decades, designing ornamentation in a style of his own, but also creating new spatial forms in his ceramic sculptures. Throughout his life, Picasso wanted his art to play a part in life in the simple sense of the term. He exhibited a true penchant for creating ceramic pots, pitchers, punch bowls, and plates, all of which were at one time the subjects of his still life paintings. The offered plates feature colorful abstract images in a variety of typical Picasso subject matters. All exhibit "Picasso" raised facsimile signatures on the obverse and the limited edition number stamping on the reverse. The large, round plates are approximately 15" in diameter, and each weighs approximately 4-1/2 pounds. Exceptional NM/MT to MT condition throughout!
