The map at upper left presents the passage from the Gulf of Patras to the Gulf of Corinth (then known as Lepanto); below is a map of Zakynthos (Zante).  At upper right we find a map of Keffalonia and adjacent islands; below is a fine view of Sapientza and adjacent islands with a view of Methoni (Modon).  While the margins of the map are distressed the map images themselves are for the most part in good condition. and if matted to the decorative border and framed the map would make a fine presentation.   Note fortifications, tiny ships at anchor - each map area is 17 x 13 cm: Note pictorial topography, sand bars: Radiating rhumb lines impart the look of sea charts: A fine assortment of ships: Condition - Please note carefully:   Map is in overall fair condition at best; margins are heavily soiled and distressed, edges frayed and truncated.   Map exhibits separation at lower centrefold with some trivial loss as can be seen in photo; map exhibits an area of damage in border between the two lower frames just crossing neatlines thereof, some minor soiling to corners of these frames as well. presentation if matted and framed.  Some old repairs on verso reinforced with acid free tape to prevent further deterioration.  Despite the distressed margins and other issues if matted to the decorative border and framed the map would still make a fine presentation.    Inquiries welcome and we encourage you to visit our other auctions on eBay.
