For your consideration: 1572 PLANTIN POLYGLOT OT and NT FIRST EDITION Rare Large Folio! 16" x 11" Based on the Royal Antwerp Polyglot, first printing 1572, "The most stunning polyglot ever made." B. Arias Montanus, ed., Plantin Press, Antwerp. Latin interlinear to OT Hebrew and NT Greek. OT is paginated right to left. Recently rebound leather w. raised spine. Comes in black archival box. FINE+ antiquarian condition. Light dampstain to most lower margins. Title leaf lower corner is worn away. Genesis 1 leaf has a repaired outer corner, without loss of text. All other leaves and Biblical text are clear and intact throughout. The similar 1584 2nd edition is being sold elsewhere for $6K, but this 1572 FIRST EDITION, though not perfect, is much rarer!
