Up for auction today is a very fine marine sextant by ~ HENRY HUGHES & SONS ~ The serial # is 27096 and is calibrated on 2/7/41 EXACTLY 4 YEARS, TO THE DAY, OF THE END OF WW2 - 2/7/44 !!! There is a tag on it stating that it was made for Baker Lyman & Co. New Orleans. It is in excellent working condition, and has tools, lubricating oil, etc. Mirrors and shades are excellent and has a 6" brass and silver radius reading to 10" there is a light bulb on a swing arm that illuminates the arc, the wire runs to the handle. Bulb does not light, needs batteries. The mahogany box is 11" x 11" x 6" and shows the usual wear but over all  it is in good condition.
