DescriptionThis antique Asian button is ENORMOUS, over 2 inches! Imagine the robe of a sumo wrestler--that large. The incredibly detailed--you can see each scale--dragon is carved from the same piece of wood that frames it. Bet the master carver also carved ivory. I wood is teak. The edge and back of the black button look lacquered; the dragon has a matte finish.In addition to being used for all things button, this is stunning with a silk cord tied on it, or a loop and a gold chain, and suspended as a pendant. And, for all you tatoo - ophiles, this woud make an amazing pattern. Would also look great propped up against the Poppy Dragon Box. Dragon Button is in great condition, especially for its age, and has a lovely patina. There are some tiny flea bits on some front edges and the dragon's black color has worn in varying degrees in different places. Back of piece has a lot of scratches. There is one place, as the photo shows, where some cross hatched scratching goes down to the brown wood.  I will send the Dragon Button in a box with ribbon so it will be ready for giving (to yourself or other).PLEASE NOTEAll sales are final.
