A large and highly detailed map, including street names, parks, cemetaries, many significant buildings, railroad lines, and street car lines.  Places of note: Forest Lawn Cemetary, New York State Insane Asylum, Fort Porter, Niagara Square and the Lehigh Valley Railroad Coal Docks.   PLEASE READ:   Seldom available and relatively rare, I am pleased to offer Circa 1890's individual maps from the elephant folio, Rand McNally  & Co.'s Indexed Standard Atlas of the World.  This was the third printing, copyright 1896.  This is a large group of over 100 original antique maps representing countries all over the world.  Most of the maps are from North America and include states and cities.  Please do not confuse these maps with the commonly found much smaller and less detailed maps including those from a Rand McNally Atlas with a similar name and same year.  Many if not most of the maps in this atlas are double page size - 26" X 19" (the overall page size is 29" X 22").  Some of the maps are single page and partial page size but all are significantly larger than most maps found in other atlases.  All the maps are printed on heavy paper; they are aquatinted and more highly detailed than most maps.  Most of these maps show topographical features, rivers and smaller tributaries.  Because of the reduced resolution of uploaded pictures, it is not possible to do justice to the quality and refinement of the maps.  These maps are quite suitable for framing.  It is recommended that maps of this age and size be taken to a professional for proper and safe conservancy in preparation for matting and framing using acid-free materials.
