Oil varnish of orange red / brown shades. Top of fine spruce, neck, back and ribs of a medium curly maple and ebony finger board. The instrument is in a very good condition and comes in a case with a bow. I´m a privat seller......no warranty..... Ebay fee and shipping with insurance free. Tis is a very rare offers. The Violins was 1954 completlhy checked by master luther in Lienz - Austria, and till now always played, also TOP INSTRUMENT. Universal Dictionary of Violin & bow Makers write : Farotti Celeste, born 1864, worked in Milan, 1890.   Exhibition medals´ gained at Milan 1908, Turin 1911 and San Francisco 1915.   Won first prizes at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Rome, Philarmonic Academy Bologna and the National Competition of Violins Makers 1917.   Died 1928. Early years employed in copying such instruments as came within his reach. In these desultory (though not aimless studies),he laid the foundation of future success. Stradivarian modelling complerely showing this theoretical knowledge. Scroll and sound-holes well proportioned (the latter sometimes seem slightly over-large). Workmanship never tinged with indifference. Often beautiful one-piece backs. Oil varnish of orange or red-brown shades--the latter thickly applied.
